A FORMER chief executive of Halifax YMCA appeared in court today charged with 11 offences of possessing indecent images of children.
Angus Henderson, 59, will next appear before Dewsbury Magistrates on May 21. He was granted bail.
Prosecutor David Holderness told the court some of the images were of such a serious nature the case should go to Crown Court.
Chairman of the bench Mark Squires agreed and when Mr Henderson next appears he is expected to be committed to Crown Court. He has yet to enter a plea.
Mr Henderson, who lives in Barnsley, was arrested in September following a police investigation during which computer files were seized.
He worked at Halifax YMCA but after his arrest he was suspended from duty and has since resigned.

It's time to elect a government that will address these matters seriously! There should be no bail granted and when proven guilty, he should not see light of day again!
