BARNSLEY NATIONALISTS: Immigrant work permits? What a lot of nonsense

No wonder the Home Office is having problems with immigrants working illegally.
The official Border and Immigration Agency form for foreign nationals wanting to extend their stays in Britain is nonsensical.
Lord Howell, the former Tory minister, asked the Government why guidance notes state: "Please do not send your form to our Sheffield address", and then helpfully requests that completed applications be sent to "Work Permits UK" at an address in, er… Sheffield.
According to Lord West, the Home Office minister responsible, "The paragraphs were originally included in the guidance notes to ensure that applicants submitted their application via the payment handling service and not direct to the case-working teams based in Sheffield."

Note to foreign readers: the appropriate English idiom here is "as clear as mud".
