Prisoners in prayer mats riot

A gang of Muslim inmates beat up two prison officers... for standing on their prayer mats.
The warders had been trying to stop an attack on another young offender when they accidentally stepped on the mats - triggering a near riot.
Several Muslim inmates turned on the guards and accused them of "insulting Islam".
They then attacked the warders, aged 35 and 40, punching and kicking them in a mosque at Rochester Young Offenders Institute.
An officer at the Kent jail said: "The prison warders were lucky to escape with their lives."
The victims - who were rescued by five other warders wielding batons - were given medical attention before taking sick leave.
Five men, aged between 18 and 21, were taken to the jail's segregation unit.
